Candidate's story: From foreign student to TV hostess

Hello everyone!

I hope you are doing well.

Recently, you have heard a lot about Inbound Technology's members, but today I would like you to know more about our motivation: helping foreign nationals to find their dream job in Japan.

In March of this year, I met Ariel who was a Ritsumeikan University student, just like me a few years ago! Her dream was to become a TV hostess in Japan.

Because of the COVID19, she was really struggling to find a job and was even considering going back to China, but we actually had one client looking for someone exactly like her. Already half a year has passed since she joined the company and I could get some news. Keep reading!

▪What kind of job are you doing right now?

I am currently working at the company you introduced to me as the TV hostess of a Chinese shopping channel in Tokyo. Besides that, I am also working as a blogger and a Youtuber.

▪What did you feel when you got the offer?

As a foreigner, and during such a pandemic, finding a job in Japan was extremely difficult, so I am really happy I could find a job!

▪What did you feel when you understood that you could realize your dream in Japan?

Actually, when I first met you I wasn't sure if I wanted to stay in Japan or not. A lot of foreigners are okay to do any job as long as they can stay in Japan and earn money, but this is not how I felt. I have always wanted to become a TV hostess, and I wanted to do a job that I like. So I am so happy that I had the chance to do my dream job in Japan. Although, this is just the first step of my dream and I will keep doing my best in Japan.

▪Is there something you would like to add?

I would like to thank you Sarah and Mr.Suzuki. When I first met you I was having a hard time because of my job-hunting. But you gave me a lot of advice, taught me a lot of things, and even helped me with my interview practice! I was really happy and relieved when I realized that I wasn't fighting alone. I really want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
