Job seekers

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

It’s one of the most annoying yet important things you learn about yourself when looking for a job. We all want to present ourselves in a flawless way to our hopefully future employers. But we are only human. We have weaknesses, and knowing them will help you find a job that really suits you.

Here are 3 effective ways to find out your strengths & weaknesses:

Brainstorm on the following things:

Situations in which you felt great and situations in which you felt uncomfortable. (Ex. hobbies, school subjects you didn’t enjoy etc.) Then take a step back and look at it as if you were a neutral bystander. This will help you find out what environment you thrive in and discover sometimes obvious weaknesses.

Find out your Enneagram type.

There are millions of personality tests online, but this one turned out to be helpful. Within only 10 minutes you will get to know your character traits and how you make big decisions.

Ask your friends and family.

This one is tricky as they might bring up that one time where you did something really stupid in kindergarten… but if you prepare the right questions, you get to know much about yourself. (Hint: Ask your shyest, quietest friend as he or she might turn out to be a good observer.)
