I have been working in database system since beginning of my career, starting from developing domain-specific search engine, turning into an open source database developer, and finally became an architect of commercial parallel database system. Along way, I sometimes enjoyed working in middle size projects around data science and machine learning technology. After spending a few years in Greenplum/EMC/Pivotal in Silicon Valley, I decided to found my company, Alpaca, to disrupt the hedge fund market using artificial intelligence.
I was responsible for the architecture of our distributed relational database and making our data fabric products such as hadoop, in-memory database and message queue etc. generate synergy with the database to achieve the company's mission towards the new generation of the computing.
I joined Data Computing Division right after EMC acquired Greenplum. I worked on many of the distributed database kernel system such as SQL parser, query optimizer, query dispatcher, resource management, distributed transactions, distributed storage system and analytics query workload.
