What We Believe In
1. Young, Scrappy and Hungry
We’re an early stage startup, which means that we value resourcefulness and hustle, nimbleness and the ability to think on your feet. You should be able to adapt to change, and to get things done in creative and original ways.
2. Team Work Makes the Dream Work
No man (or woman) is an island. We believe that the best results come from collaboration. You should be open-minded, intellectually curious, and have the ability to think win-win. You won’t succeed at Sapio if you operate in a silo.
3. Rebels With a Cause
We value out-of-the-box thinking, which means that we don’t blindly follow what larger companies do. Just because Google/Facebook/Amazon does something doesn’t mean it’s right for us. We may be small, but we punch above our weight – and we don’t simply subscribe to established convention.
What We Don’t Believe In
4. Another Day, Another Dollar
If you’re looking for a place to coast, Sapio is not the right place for you – you’ll find your experience to be extremely uncomfortable and you’ll probably want to leave within a month or less. If you just want to slap something on your CV, or get your nagging parents off your back, we suggest you look elsewhere – there are plenty of better places to duck under the radar.
5. Don’t Wanna Grow Up
At Sapio, we believe in treating everyone like a mature adult. This means you own your own sh*t, and have an attitude of radical accountability. When something goes wrong, we have the guts to own up and fix our own mess. We don’t gel well with entitled brats who think that the world owes them a living.
6. Too Cool for School
You’re smart, and we value that – we will try our best to give everyone a platform to hone and showcase their potential. However, if you are dogmatically stubborn and get off on putting others down, you’re probably not right for us. Intellectual humility is the key ingredient to continued personal growth. We care more about your capacity for growth than what you can do right now.
