Guided by our core values, we push the boundaries of applied artificial intelligence to design creative solutions for systemic problems. For example, we created a map of the world’s patent knowledge in order to empower inventors, attorneys, and patent offices with more accurate insight into the state of the art in any given field. As a result, our customers benefit from dramatic increases in efficiency and society benefits from a fairer system that promotes innovation instead of litigation.
We’re a small team with ambitious goals. To achieve this, we need the flexibility and power to translate our ideas to software rapidly and correctly. We chose Elixir as the core of our stack because it offers speed, a simple but powerful concurrency model, and top notch tooling. Phoenix is the icing on the cake. It’s honestly fun to use, and it has helped us rapidly become industry leaders in performance. Even better, easy concurrency means we can integrate our machine learning services (written in Python, serving our own proprietary models) quickly and simply.
On the front end, we love React and we love Apollo. With a large API surface due to the complexity of patents, we can rapidly develop components that only have the data we want without changing the back end APIs. We’re always forward looking, eager to use emerging best practices like storybook and styled-components so we can develop features our customers will enjoy more quickly.
