なにをやっているのか

“Future” We Want to Create In 2023, 382,504 people lost their lives to cancer in Japan, making it the leading cause of death. However, cancer is a disease that can often be cured if detected early. When found at an initial stage, treatment options increase, physical and financial burdens decrease, and patients can return to society much sooner. Despite this, the rate of cancer screenings in Japan remains low, and many cases are diagnosed too late. This is largely due to psychological and physical barriers associated with traditional screening methods, such as the time required, pain involved, and concerns about radiation exposure. Driven by the desire to create a cancer screening test that anyone can take easily and with peace of mind, we developed a new technology called "N-NOSE." By utilizing the exceptional sense of smell of a tiny organism called the nematode, we have made it possible to screen for the risk of cancer throughout the entire body with a single test. Simply submitting a urine sample allows for painless, effortless, and low-cost detection of even early-stage cancers such as stage 0 or I. Our goal is a future where cancer is no longer a feared disease. A society where everyone naturally undergoes screenings and can respond promptly if needed. And a world where precious lives are extended with greater happiness.

こんなことやります

Job Description • Lead regular team meetings: prepare materials, present findings, and report progress with clear, actionable insights. • Design and document experiment protocols, results, and reports to ensure reproducibility and efficiency. • Author high-impact academic papers and contribute to building our intellectual property (IP) portfolio. • Represent the company at national and international conferences, showcasing our breakthroughs. • Engage in collaborative research with universities, hospitals, and industry partners to accelerate innovation. • Foster cross-departmental cooperation, actively participate in company events, and handle light administrative tasks. • Embrace a proactive mindset to propose and iterate on ideas in a fast-paced, supportive environment. [Specific Responsibilities] • Pioneer AI technologies for nematode-based cancer screening, including building prototypes with production-ready code for high-performance algorithms. • Conduct genetic engineering, chemotaxis experiments using nematodes, and statistical data analysis to refine N-NOSE capabilities. • Develop generative AI models to process large biological datasets, enabling precise cancer-type identification and next-gen cancer tests. • Stay ahead of the curve by integrating state-of-the-art machine learning, deep learning networks, and competing technologies into our pipeline. Job Requirements, Skills, and Others • PhD in a science-related field (e.g., biology, bioinformatics, medicine, engineering, or equivalent), including those nearing completion. • No nationality restrictions, we welcome global talent to our inclusive, English-friendly workplace. • Essential: Strong background in wet/dry biology, algorithm development, coding proficiency (e.g., Python, R), forward-thinking innovation, and excellent teamwork skills.
