appArray Inc. is currently developing an AI English-learning iOS app called “SpeakBuddy.” Users can improve their English speaking skills by having conversations with AI bots. We aim to create a perfect AI English-learning app which will enable Japanese people to speak English fluently. appArray is funded by several venture capitals. We have also gained funds through a crowd funding community called Makuake, where we were able to procure the most amount of funds in the history of Makuake fundraising regarding apps. In the past, apps made by appArray have twice ranked #1 on AppStore’s Top Grossing chart. We are very experienced in this business, and have been able to gain more than 1 million users with our past apps. We strongly believe that we will be able to change the Japanese society for the better by increasing Japanese people fluent in English. The skill to speak English fluently will enable people to: reach out to more information, gaining a wider perspective of the world, confidently engage in business matters with foreigners, and make friends from foreign countries. With all these new abilities, people’s lives will be richer and much more exciting. In order for Japanese people to be fluent in English, we believe that AI English-practicing app of a good quality is a necessity. Currently, the development is done with a small team of less than 10 members (including part-time members and interns) under the policy of “small numbers- exceptional talent.” However, our aim is to keep growing. ▼what you can expect from our workplace The direction of development and the architecture (such as using BaaS and behavior analysis tools) are decided mostly by engineers. We aim to improve the development process by discussing and looking back the week’s work at meetings, which we hold once a week.
