HoloAshは、元DiscordのCMOやミクシィの創業者等から支援を受けて、マイノリティのためのSNSアプリ「weBelong」を開発しています。 weBelongは、マイノリティの若い世代がつながり、友人を作り、自分らしく、違いを受け入れるソーシャルアプリです。 自殺は、米国ティーンの死因のトップ5のひとつです。そして、ソーシャルメディアと自殺には大きな関係があるのです。ソーシャルメディアが生活の中に浸透したことで、10代の自殺率は2007年から2017年にかけて激増してきました。 どのソーシャルメディアでも、他の人のフォロワー数や「いいね！」の数が表示されます。人々は、無意味な競争のために自尊心を下げ、不安や抑うつを感じるだろうと自分と他人を比較することをやめられない。 人々は必ずしもこれが発生していることを超意識する必要はありませんが、そうなっています。 weBelongでは、他の人が獲得しているフォロワー数や「いいね！」の数を確認することはできません。他人と自分を比べる必要がない、Toxic Freeなソーシャルメディア です。 2021年に立ち上げられたまだ新しいSNSですが、weBelongはマイノリティ、主にLGBTQに特化したSNSで、彼らは1日平均63minを費やしており、自分らしくいられる居場所を多くのユーザーが見つけています。 HoloAsh is developing a social networking app for marginalized people called weBelong, backed by Former Discord CMO, founder or mixi. weBelong is a social app for marginalized young generation to connect, make friends and celebrate differences. Suicide is actually one of the top five causes of death among adolescents. And there is a significant relationship between social media and suicide. Suicide rates among teenagers has seen a drastic increase from 2007 to 2017 as social media has become a prevalent way of life. Every social media shows the # of followers others have and likes others get. People cannot stop comparing you with others that they will lower self-esteem, feel anxious or depressed because of meaningless competitions. People don’t necessarily have to be super aware that this is occurring, but it does. On weBelong, you cannot check any # of followers or likes others are getting. You don't have to compare you with others. Social media is great. weBelong aims to be toxic-free place for teens to be themselves. Although it is still new, launched in 2021, weBelong is a social network dedicated to marginalized people and they spend 63min per day on average.
