People say you don't know what you've got until it's gone. For me, it was the excitement I get from designing products hands-on, which I realized was missing while working as a creative director at Loftwork.
Both the roles of managing creative projects at Loftwork and designing innovative products at Ziba and ITO Design involved the immense joy of solving creative challenges. But that satisfactory moment of finding the best design after countless debates and iterations, that feeling of holding the first prototype of a product that may one day change the future, and seeing a person’s smile using that product, those were the feelings I loved the most and what I want to experience again.
Besides designing things for a better tomorrow, I love exposing myself to foreign cultures in not-on-google-maps places and putting myself through challenges that first seem almost impossible. I'd be happy to tell you about the time I volunteered at a local banana farm in Ecuador, where I harvested bananas and made bamboo houses with just a machete. That time I climbed up the Himalayas as well as running the Honolulu Marathon.
On the weekends, if I'm not out and about traveling the world, I relax by cooking and eating all kinds of food and spending too much time on The Verge and Core77 to catch up on the latest tech and designs.
