There are not a lot of expats residing in Northern Mariana, partly on account of the island's remote place, partly as a result of financial circumstance and limited employment opportunities. Fishing is the principal source of income of the large part of the island. The Northern Mariana Islands offer a selection of opportunities for tourists.
