「10年一緒に働いてる気がする。」
そう言われたとき、
まだ一緒に働いて1年しか経っていませんでした。
("It feels like we've worked together for 10 years."
The funny thing was...
It had only been one.)

More than the code: Building teams people enjoy working with.
After wrapping up a month-long project, one of my teammates said something I'll probably remember for the rest of my career.
"It feels like we've been working together for 10 years."
I'd only been on the team for about a year.
At first I laughed.
But the more I thought about it, the more meaningful that compliment became.
It wasn't because I wrote the most code.
It wasn't because I fixed the hardest bugs.
It was because of the small things that rarely appear in a sprint report.
Answering questions quickly.
Being approachable.
Keeping standups enjoyable with the occasional joke.
Celebrating small wins together.
Trying to make stressful days feel just a little less stressful.
Over the years, I've heard similar comments from several teammates.
That tells me something important.
As engineers, we spend years improving our technical skills.
But every project is also an opportunity to improve the experience of working together.
Trust.
Reliability.
Communication.
These don't show up in velocity charts or KPIs.
Yet they often determine whether a team enjoys building a product—or simply finishes one.
Large software projects are built by skilled engineers.
Great products are built by teams that trust each other.

良いエンジニアは、
コードだけではなく、
チームも良くしていく。
(Great engineers don't just improve the codebase.
They improve the team around them, too.)
The features we build eventually become someone else's responsibility.
The reputation we build stays with us much longer.
