This time, I would like to share with you an interview with Mr. Sato from Global Customer Success, who joined our company on August 1th.

Reason for joining the Aldagram／Global Customer Success

――Please introduce yourself.（まず、簡単に自己紹介をお願いします。）

Hello everyone! My name is Kazuto. My hobby is traveling and I have traveled a lot both in and outside of Japan. I also enjoy watching TV drama and movies. Recently I’m watching a Korean TV drama called “Golden Spoon”.

はじめまして！2023年08月01日にアルダグラムに入社しました佐藤と申します。

趣味は旅行で、コロナ禍を除いては毎年国内・海外旅行に行っています。
映画やドラマも好きで、最近は、「ゴールデンスプーン」という韓国ドラマがお気に入りです！

This is “Oirase-Keikoku (Oirase Gorge) I recently went.

――Please tell us about your career to date.（これまでの経歴を教えてください。）

I was born and raised in Osaka and spent two years in the US and Canada. I moved to Tokyo when I started my first career in the financial service industry. I worked there for 2 years and moved to a recruitment firm where I worked with both candidates and companies from various industries such as consulting, financial service and tech. I quit my job and went to Singapore to obtain an MBA degree prior to joining Aldagram.

大阪出身で、２年ほど海外で過ごした後、新卒で金融機関に入社するため上京しました。
２年間勤務した後、人材紹介会社に転職し、コンサル・金融・IT企業などを中心に、採用企業・転職希望者両方を担当する両手型エージェントとして５年間勤務しました

ーーHow did you change jobs?（転職活動の経緯を教えてください。）

At my previous job, I had opportunities to work on positions such as a product manager, business development, etc within tech firms. That experience made me very interested in these roles, but it was difficult to move to these positions with my experience. That’s the reason why I decided to pursue MBA. I had three criteria for the next job after MBA.
①Whether the role allows me to try product development or business development in the future.
②Whether I can utilize my professional experience (sales) and my strengths (language).
③Whether the role has an overseas exposure.

I applied to various types of companies such as global enterprises, large Japanese enterprises and Japanese start ups but realized that it’s difficult to achieve my career goal in Tokyo office of global companies because Tokyo office is only a sales branch for many global companies, which means that Tokyo office can not participate to product development or business strategy. That led me to focus on Japanese companies. I was not focusing too much on the global element when I started job hunting but I realized it is a very important factor for me while having interviews.

前職でテック企業でのプロダクトマネジメントや事業企画のポジションを担当する機会があり、自分も将来的にそういったポジションに挑戦したいと思うようになりました。ただ、営業の経験しかない自分がいきなり挑戦することは難しく、一旦退職してMBAを取得することにしました。

卒業後の転職活動の軸としては、
①将来、プロダクトや事業の企画に携われる機会があること。
②今までの経験（営業）や自分の強み（語学力）を生かせること。
③海外との関わりがあること。
がありました。

その軸をもとに、外資系・日系大手・日系スタートアップと幅広く色々な会社に応募しましたが、外資系だと日本オフィスは営業拠点でしかないためプロダクトの改善や事業開発に関わることができない企業が多く、日系企業に絞られました。
面接を受け始めるまでは、海外との関わりは優先度が高くなかったのですが、面接を通じてやはり自分は何かしら海外に携わりたいと思うようになりました。

ーーWhat were the deciding factors for you to join Aldagram?（アルダグラムに入社する決め手は何でしたか？）

There are three reasons why I decided to join Aldagram.

①There are not many Japanese startups being able to go into the global market. Aldagram not only started going into the global market but also is already seeing success in the SEA market, which is extremely rare.

②I want to experience customer success which will allow me to learn the industry, the product and the customers, and eventually try planning jobs such as product marketing or business strategy planning. And I felt that Aldagram has a great culture and system where they put a great effort on the career development of each employee.

③I really appreciate how nice and integrate people I met during the interviews are.

理由は3つあります。

1つ目は、日系のスタートアップで海外展開ができる企業は珍しく、ましてアルダグラムのようにすでに海外で案件を受注し拠点を作るところまできている企業は中々ないと思ったからです。
2つ目は、CSという、顧客、業界、プロダクトを深く理解することが求められる仕事を通して成長し、将来的にはPMMや事業企画に挑戦できる可能性があるからです。（それを応援してくれる文化・体制があると感じました）
3つ目は、面接でお会いした方々との相性や、誠実さに惹かれたからです。

ーーWhat challenges do you want to take on in the future with Aldagram?（アルダグラムでこれからどんなチャレンジをしていきたいですか？）

I really appreciate that Aldagram decided to hire me without the industry and role experience, which means there are so many things I have to learn and catch up with. As the global business unit is relatively new, I heard there will be opportunities to support business development by participating exhibitions overseas, and I am very looking forward to it, too.

今回、業界・職種も未経験でありながらも採用していただき、まずはいち早く戦力になれるように精進したいと思います。海外事業は比較的新しく拡大中であるため、CSのみならず、海外での展示会への参加など営業活動にも関われると聞いています。一つのことに固執せず、全て勉強だと思って積極的に色々なことに携わっていきたいです。
