『RICE MAPPING』in milano salone

2015年4月14日から開催のTOKYO DESIGN WEEK in MILANOに『RICE MAPPING』を展示。 コンセプト： 日本において米は、単なる食物にとどまらず神事や祭祀で供物として神仏に捧げられる、いわば日本人にとっての霊的価値を持つ存在である。我々はその「米」に日本の美意識を凝縮することに挑戦した。 米だと思ってじっと見つめていると、いつのまにかテクスチャーが変容し米のようで米ではなくなっている。万物は無限に移ろい姿を変え、ひとときとして同じ姿、価値観ではない「諸行無常」という日本古来の価値観を日本の最先端技術を結集した世界最小のプロジェクションマッピングで表現した。 CONCEPT: In Japan, rice is more than a mere food source. It has spiritual significance for the Japanese due to its use as an offering to deities in rituals and ceremonies. We took on the challenge of distilling Japanese aesthetics onto this cultural symbol. We created the world’s smallest projection mapping that brings together Japan’s ancient values and state-of-the-art technology. As it is being viewed, the texture of the “rice” begins to change so that it is no longer just rice. This reflects the ancient Japanese belief in shogyo mujo (the impermanence of worldly things), which is embodied in the saying: “all creation is infinitely transitory with forms and values changing in each moment.”

"森の木琴" NTT docomo TOUCH WOOD SH-08C

間伐材で作ったケータイ「TOUCH WOOD SH-08C」のためのプロモーション映像。44mの巨大な木琴が、バッハのカンタータ 第147番「主よ、人の望みの喜びよ。」を奏でる。Cannes Lions Film Craft部門Cyber部門金賞をはじめ、Spikes Asia、ACC、グッドデザイン賞など多数受賞。 A promotional video for the “TOUCH WOOD SH-08C,” a mobile phone made from forest-thinning materials. This video of a gigantic 44-meter long wooden xylophone playing Bach’s Cantata 147 (“Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring”) won Cannes Gold Lions for Film Craft and Cyber, along with awards from Spikes Asia, ACC, and the Good Design Award.
