The Institute for Application of Learning Sciences and Educational Technology (ALSET) is an initiative by the National University of Singapore (NUS) focusing on advancing high-impact teaching and learning practices. ALSET aims to enhance learning experiences through the rigorous research of practical applications of learning theory and educational technologies.
なぜやるのか
ALSET is uniquely positioned to serve as a catalyst for bringing together interested parties to design, develop, deploy, and evaluate learning processes, systems, and applications. Our Achievements platform is one avenue through which we reach out to learners across Singapore to provide high-impact learning activities and conduct rigorous research.
どうやっているのか
ALSET aims to become a leading hub for learning science and education technology research in Asia, and a provider of impactful programming to support lifelong learning. Our work falls under 3 main pillars:
Discovery: We gain insights through basic research and original data on how learners learn.
Translation: We apply learning insights to support translational research projects that improve education.
Education: We provide courses and other services to help individuals of all ages become effective lifelong learners.
