文化を“体験する”世界旅行 ＿＿ Something Global を旅する1日

 ── OCE × JS Global Culture Fest 2025 開催レポート（Part 3 後編）

第1回ではイベント全体の熱と空気を。第2回ではステージに込められた想いを。
そして今回の第3回では、参加者が“観客”から “旅人” に変わる瞬間をお届けします。

 世界をめぐるカルチャーブースへ

会場には、日本・サウジアラビア・インド・デンマーク・ポーランド・エルサルバドル…… 世界各国をテーマにした文化体験ブースが並びました。
どのブースも予想を超える人気で、立ち見が出るほどの盛況。
まるで“ミニ万博’’のような空間でした。

OCEは「英語を学ぶ場所」ではなく
“英語をきっかけに世界を広げる場所”でありたい。
多国籍講師によるカルチャーブースは、まさにその思想が形になった瞬間でした。

グローバルシェアリングボードでひらく、未来の行き先

会場の中央には、自分の “グローバル経験” を共有するボードが。
「過去に行った国」「おすすめスポット」「いつか行ってみたい場所」。
講師も生徒も関係なく、互いの世界を語り合う時間。
「知らなかった国の話を聞いて、行きたい国が増えた！」という声も。

“英語/日本語学習を続ける理由が、またひとつ増える”
それが、OCEとJSがこの日届けたかった価値です。

 世界のスナックと「世界一苦いお茶」の洗礼

休憩エリアには講師おすすめの世界のスナック＆ドリンクが勢ぞろい。
「これ、懐かしい！」「初めて見る！」と盛り上がる参加者たち。
なかでも話題をさらったのは、中国雲南省の薬草茶・「苦丁茶（Ku Ding Cha）」。
ひと口飲んで、「わあー苦い！」と表情をくしゃっとさせる生徒さんの姿に、
自然と笑いと会話が生まれていました。

グローバルフォトコンテスト —— 記憶と感情が交差する“旅の1枚”

休憩エリアの壁一面には、「私のグローバル体験」をテーマに集められたフォトギャラリーが展示されていました。

旅行の1シーン、留学での挑戦、異文化の中で受けた衝撃——

どの写真にも、“言語ではなく感情で語られる物語” が宿っていました。

写真の前で足を止め、

「Where is this?」

「I’ve been there too!」

——そんな対話が自然と生まれ、そこはまるで記憶を共有し合う旅人たちのラウンジのよう。

オーディエンス投票によって選ばれた最優秀作品は、

池袋校マネージャー・Akiraによる「サハラの朝」。

モロッコ、サハラ砂漠の真ん中。まだ誰も起きていない夜明け前。

砂の海の向こうから昇る太陽は——言葉にできない静かな感動と、魂が洗われるような光 だったそうです。

写真はただの“情報”ではなく、“記憶の温度”まで映すものなのだと、改めて感じさせられました。

自分の五感で見た景色、感じた空気、耳に残っている音。　

それらは決してスクリーン越しでは得られない、“その人だけのリアル”です。

だからこそ、会場に展示された一枚一枚には、「旅の記録」ではなく「人生の軌跡」 が刻まれていました。

“終わり” ではなく、“次の旅へのスタートライン”

Nana & Johnの言葉で締めくくられた “旅の終わり”

Today truly showed what “Something Global” means —
sharing, learning, and celebrating together.

今日ここで出逢ってお話しした生徒様や講師たちに会いに、是非他の校舎にも足を運んでみてください！

言葉は、世界とつながるための“武器”です。

けれど、その武器は、使い方次第で、誰かを傷つけることも、誰かと深く理解し合うこともできる。

今回のフェスで私たちが目指したのは、言葉を通して、文化や価値観を知り、互いを尊重し、歩み寄ること。

ステージで語られたストーリー、カラフルな衣装に込められた背景、ブースで交わされた何気ない会話、そして、会場にあふれていたたくさんの笑顔。

その一つひとつが、私たちが目指す世界を体現していました。

世界はこれから、分断に向かうのか、それとも調和に向かうのか。

私たちは、後者を信じています。

一人ひとりが自分の色を持ち、違いを恐れず、尊重し合い、言葉と行動で世界とつながっていく。

その小さな一歩を、ここ One Coin English / Japan Switch から。

Global Culture Fest 2025は、終わりではなく、これからの“はじまり” です。

また次のフェスで、そして日常の中で、皆さんと“Something Global”を分かち合えることを楽しみにしています。

In Part 1, we captured the overall atmosphere and excitement of the event.
In Part 2, we explored the stories and emotions behind the stage performances.

And now, in Part 3, we invite you to relive the moment when participants transformed
from spectators into travelers.

🎪 Stepping Into a World of Cultural Booths

The venue was filled with cultural experience booths inspired by countries from around the world —
Japan, Saudi Arabia, India, Denmark, Poland, El Salvador, and many more.

Every booth exceeded expectations, drawing such large crowds that standing-room-only became the norm.
The space truly felt like a mini world expo.

At OCE, we don’t see ourselves as just a place to “learn English.”
We strive to be a place where English becomes the gateway to a wider world.

These multicultural booths, led by our international teachers, were the embodiment of that philosophy —
a moment when our values came to life.

🗺 Opening New Destinations Through the Global Sharing Board

At the center of the venue stood the Global Sharing Board —
a place to share personal global experiences.

Countries you’ve visited.
Places you recommend.
Destinations you dream of visiting someday.

Teachers and students alike gathered to exchange stories and perspectives,
bridging worlds through conversation.

“I learned about a country I’d never heard of before — now I really want to go!”
comments like this echoed throughout the space.

Another reason to keep learning English — and Japanese — was born.
That was the value OCE and JS hoped to deliver on this day.

🍵 Global Snacks & the Shock of “The World’s Bitterest Tea”

In the break area, participants enjoyed a selection of global snacks and drinks recommended by our teachers.

“This brings back memories!”
“I’ve never seen this before!”
Excited voices filled the air.

The star of the show, however, was Ku Ding Cha — a traditional herbal tea from Yunnan, China,
famous for being intensely bitter.

One sip was enough to spark laughter:
“Wow… that’s bitter!”

Faces scrunched up, laughter followed, and conversations naturally began —
a perfect example of how shared experiences connect people across cultures.

📸 Global Photo Contest — Where Memories and Emotions Intersect

One entire wall of the venue was transformed into a photo gallery,
featuring images under the theme “My Global Experience.”

Scenes from travel, moments from studying abroad,
and powerful encounters with different cultures filled the space.

Each photo carried a story —
not spoken through words, but through emotion.

Participants paused, pointed, and asked:

“Where is this?”
“I’ve been there too!”

The gallery became a lounge for travelers,
sharing memories and discovering common ground.

Through audience voting, the winning photograph was selected:
“Morning in the Sahara,” by Akira, Manager of the Ikebukuro School.

Taken in the heart of the Sahara Desert in Morocco,
before anyone had woken, just before dawn.

The sun rising over an endless sea of sand —
a moment of quiet awe, impossible to put into words,
yet deeply cleansing to the soul.

It reminded us that photographs don’t merely capture information —
they capture the temperature of memory.

The landscapes we’ve seen,
the air we’ve felt,
the sounds that linger in our ears —

these are experiences no screen can fully convey.

That’s why every photo displayed was not just a “travel record,”
but a trace of someone’s life journey.

Not an Ending, but the Starting Line of the Next Journey

The “end of the journey” was marked by closing words from Nana & John:

“Today truly showed what ‘Something Global’ means —
sharing, learning, and celebrating together.”

They encouraged everyone to visit other campuses
and reconnect with the teachers and students they met that day.

Language is a tool for connecting with the world.
But depending on how it’s used,
it can either hurt someone —
or help us understand one another more deeply.

What we aimed to create through this festival was simple yet profound:
to learn about cultures and values through language,
to respect differences,
and to walk toward one another with openness.

The stories told on stage.
The backgrounds behind colorful costumes.
The casual conversations shared at booths.
And the countless smiles that filled the venue.

Each moment reflected the world we strive to build.

As the future unfolds, the world faces a choice:
division — or harmony.

We believe in the latter.

Each person carrying their own color.
Embracing differences without fear.
Connecting with the world through words and action.

That small step begins here —
at One Coin English / Japan Switch.

Global Culture Fest 2025 is not the end.
It is the beginning.
