Australia bans online gambling operators on cash loans
A new bill banning online gambling operators from offering monetary credits to fraudsters has consistently headed to the federal government, aiming to prevent substantial losses and solid debt from local residents. The newly introduced regulation aims to ban online game operators from offering credit lines to players in Australia. In an interview with ABC Radio, Human Services Minister Alan Tudge described it as an appropriate step to protect people from significant debt and losses. Turge added that the bill would probably win the support of lawmakers and would soon enter the country's legal system. In fact, Mr. Turge has been a strong advocate of crackdowns since 2011, asking for help, explaining that when an unemployed man entered his office, he was in debt by betting. The gambler told Mr. Turge that the operator offered him an $80,000 loan and accepted the loan. But it only took him a week to spend all his money on his credit card by playing more games. That was when Mr. Turge began to come up with appropriate and efficient measures to help people with gambling problems. This is not the first time legislators are trying to introduce strict regulations on gambling operators to prevent Australia's social ills and financial problems. Experts also explained that while the government cannot prevent players from betting, the most reasonable solution to the problem is to impose stricter measures. Last year, Tudge also expressed concerns about unscrupulous casino operators outside the country who are benefiting from players vulnerable to gambling problems. He explained that as a result of various investigations into the matter, gamblers are more likely to get into trouble online than offline casinos. The reforms aim to "clean" the gaming environment from illegal overseas game operators, in addition to banning online gambling sites facing Australia from offering loans to their users. That way, users can enjoy a safe and protected gaming environment. In addition, users will be able to control their bank employees without exhausting their savings on gambling activities. In 2001, the Australian government implemented an interactive gambling amendment bill to cope with the boom in online gambling at the time. Experience shows that too harsh regulations are not the right solution because they can't stop players from gambling and can energize the grey gambling area. So instead of restricting the gambling industry, the Australian government now aims to regulate it appropriately.
