The first thing you want to be aware of is the visa you receive doesn't automatically fit your citizenship. That you want to get a visa otherwise the visa you receive won't be legal if you don't have an EU passport. There are exceptions to this rule, but that is the general principle. Slovaks require a visa to enter this area that is European, not unlike Irish citizens, but the problem is in the fact that there are countries outside the EU.
