Digital self-order menus for the Food/Beverage industry.
Zenu is a platform that is looking to disrupt how customers order and pay at F/B shops. With digital menus we provide shops a way for them to manage their menus in real time, connect with their customers on social media, re-marketing, easily provide multiple languages for their customers, collect valuable data about ordering and eating preferences etc.
Zenu started with 3 friends who love Japanese food and wanted to create an innovative product that would help foreigners when dining-in at Tokyo restaurants for the 2020 Summer Olympics. The core of Zenu is taking Japanese menus and digitalizing them on our platform (through CSV upload) and translating them into English (machine translation with human check).
After working with some restaurants we also discovered other features which users found important such as food allergy/preference filtering and Social Media connecting which is easy which we implemented on our digital menus.
Zenu is broswer-based (no downloading), our tech stack includes: -React/node.js (testing with next.js) -Mongo DB -Firebase -Remarketing cookies -Adobe XD/InVision (wireframing)
We are currently in beta stage testing at 3 restaurants in Tokyo and 1 in Guam (Guam restaurant we translate to Japanese/Chinese).
Dentsu Creative X “crosses” the lines between traditional and new-age media to provide integrated campaigns. I Joined within the new international division at an early stage (4th member) to help grow it. This was a fast paced environment that required communication in Japanese and English to manage projects with members across marketing/ data, engineering, designing and video production teams; sometimes spanning across different time zones. Projects are digital based (creating or overhauling websites) but sometimes campaigns included other mediums such as TV commercials or AR apps etc., from the planning phase to final output.
The approach I take when executing projects follows: -understanding the problem, -analyzing available data, -conceptualize the solution approach and creative specs, -creating the roadmap, -wireframing/ prototyping, -building either in-house or working with overseas vendors, -shipping item on time, -and iterating when needed along the way or after; and at the end of the day, taking ownership and keeping the gears greased so that the project gets shipped on time.
Achievements -The 4th employee (out of 12 currently) in the new International Division within company. Helped define the role and scope of the new division by forging crucial connections and partnerships internally and externally to grow the division. -Helped train/mentor the follow-on members and managed them for large, complex digital & video advertising campaign projects with Japanese and Non-Japanese clients. -Because of the limited number of English speakers I got to wear many hats in this role; including content copywriting, business development (overseas conferences), SNS strategy and even doing narrations and TVCMs.
東京 PADECO is a consulting company which works with governments of emerging markets to improve their education/ tourism etc. sectors. I was responsible for identifying prospective international projects, networking with prospective international clients to grow sales and managing the international projects that we gained.
Achievements -Was Project Manger at Japanese consulting company helping to “bring Japanese technology” to developing countries. -As one of the only native English speakers at the company, in charge of proofreading tech documents in English. -Won new overseas projects through thorough proposal creations.
Responsibilities -Manage various types of international development projects (digitalization, infrastructure, education, tourism etc.) funded by international donors (JICA, World Bank, United Nations etc.) -Managed budget, schedule and team members. -Produced proposals for new projects
NYC Worked with Japanese clients in America to process trades and reached out to other brokers to resolve issues and meet time deadlines in a fast paced, high accuracy environment.
Achievements: -Worked with compliance in a post-Lehman shock time to help meet the new stricter standards and regulation requirements. -Was instrumental in digitalizing trade records. Before we were printing out all ticket orders at the end of everyday and filing in cabinets (about 200-400 pages/day). I worked with IT to make a digital report that was meet compliance standards. -Also used my Excel skills to automate our settlement checking. Prior we would check all settlements by hand (involving a 3 person check on a few hundred trades/day), I developed an Excel Macro to automatically extract trade data and analyze any discrepancies, saving hours each day.
