世界６か国に展開しているEd TechベンチャーQuipperのエンジニアをご紹介！

●Quipperとは

25万人の先生と300万人の生徒に使われている、教育プラットフォームを提供している会社です。DeNAの創業メンバー渡辺雅之によって設立されました。貧富や国境の差を超えて誰もが良い教育を受けられる世界の実現を目指しています。拠点はロンドン、マニラ、ジャカルタ、メキシコシティ、東京にあり、開発はロンドン、マニラ、東京で行っています。昨年リクルートマーケティングパートナーズの仲間入りをし、国内向けサービスのスタディサプリ(今年の2月に受験サプリが生まれ変わってローンチされたもの）の開発も行っています。

Tell us about yourself

"I was born in Tokyo and grew up surrounded by cats. My favorite motto is "We live to feel, be impressed, and touched".

Inspired by my teacher, I had aspired to become a teacher myself when I studied at university. But I was bitterly disappointed to see the amount of tasks they had to do that were not related at all to the essence of teaching when I did my training. It made me start to think of how I could help teachers, to help students.

One of the answers I found was Quipper. I believe that what I do at Quipper changes people’s life for the better."

Share your experience in the project.

"StudySapuri was such a big project with a number of stakeholders and a long list of things to complete, that we were constantly preoccupied with anxiety of the worst-case scenario. It’s been a great project and we made it through, but now on, I'd like to create things in dribs and drabs and work on improving them. To me, that seems like the development style Quipper's good at."

What did you pay most attention to in the development process?

"I was responsible for the registration flow in the project and I simply thought about the Japanese students all around. Switching from JyukenSapuri to StudySapuri itself is a big change for them, so I worked hard not to have any complexities in the flow. It’s one of the features that has direct impact in our numbers: conversion rate, cancellation rate, and so on. So I’ve been tracking our KPIs since the launch."

How do you want to improve StudySapuri?

"I'd like to make StudySapuri and Quipper School more edgy on the technical side, and more useful for users around the world. I want any user to be able to learn or teach with our services without effort; for instance, by implementing form input with speech recognition, visualized learning data, controls of video playback by motion gesture, and so on. I’ll study hard to make these come true."
