STOP! 3 Things to Check Before Publishing your Job Post

You’re ready to publish your Job Post but not sure if it’s ready to go? You’re in luck - here’s a checklist for you, so it’s 10000% perfect for your future team member to see it!

☐ Headline

Your headline must:

✔ Consist of more than the Job Title

You must include at least one additional detail in the headline beyond the job title. You can focus on your team’s visions, opportunities within the role itself, etc. For more inspiration, read here.

✔ Not specify job targets or work conditions

We want to help you find talent to join your company based on aligned mission and values, not salary or benefits. Thus, make sure you exclude these details!

Examples of what not to do:

  • Software engineer wanted!
  • Remote Jobs / No relocation
  • Millennials only / New grads only / Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of 3 days a week required
  • 25 days holiday each year / childcare vouchers included
  • Competitive salary

☐ Cover Photo

Your Cover Photo must:

✔ Have a text overlay within 30% of the image

Not sure how much is 30% of your Cover Photo? Don’t fret, when you upload your Cover Photo, the image uploader will detect and share if your image has more than 30% text overlay.

✔ Not mention work conditions or skills

With text on your image, they should represent your company’s culture and mission. In addition, adding a call-to-action prompt on the image is prohibited.

Cover Photos matter immensely when reaching out to talent. We recommend using Cover Photos that feature the people on your team - whether it’s in the office, at an event, or a team bonding activity!

☐ Content (Job Description)

Your Job Description must:

✔ Have a complete What we do, How we do, and Why we do sections

✔ Not mention salary

✔ Must have verifiable facts (i.e. No. 1 firm in the tech industry)

✔ Not include prompts to third party channels (whether it’s an email address or link to an external website)

✔ Not include employee benefits

Example of a Great Job Description:

Who we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience for Manager, 0-3 years of experience for Associate; preferred experience in business development, sales, marketing, and/or relationship management.
  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Fluency in both Cantonese and English, written and spoken
  • Customer happiness orientation; candidates with experience in account relationship management are preferred.
  • Analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making skills
  • Ability to flex your schedule to meet the needs of clients
