Human Library is an dialog event that aims at filling a gap between people with disabled and others by having conversation in a small group. Even though a school event adviser disapproved holding this event, we never gave up, and just explained what it was and how wonderful influences it had. After 5 months preparation, we could have 33 participants and more than 95% of them wanted to have this kind of event constantly. Human Libraryとは、障がい者やLGBTQなど社会的マイノリティーと呼ばれる人々への差別、偏見をなくす目的で、世界70か国以上で開催されている対話イベントです。私たちは、これにアメリカならではの人種問題や個人のより深い理解も目的に含め開催しました。一度は、アメリカ人カレッジコーディネーターから開催を断られたこともありましたが、イベントに対するニーズを説明することで納得させました。5か月間の準備期間の末開いたこのHuman Libraryには、33人の参加者が集まり、その95%以上から継続的な開催を望む声をいただきました。
