REVAMPING MALAYSIA'S DIGITAL LITERACY STANDARD
ICDL Asia is partnering with Malaysian authorities in revamping the country’s National Competency Standard (NCS) for ICT Users. Malaysian citizens will be able to use the updated NCS, which will be equivalent to ICDL, to keep their skills current with trends in workplace technology use, and meet international standards of digital competence. ICDL will be made available through 1,200 National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS) institutes across the country. An initial workshop was organised by ICDL Asia, with attendance from all the relevant government departments involved in setting up and vetting the development of the NCS, including Malaysia’s Occupational Skill Qualification (MOSQ) and Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). In addition to a three-day intensive technical workshop, organised by the Department of Skills Development, a country-wide roadshow will present ICDL to NOSS centres in different states.
