I been playing the role of a software developer for scientific data analysis while conducting my ever increasing list of university degrees. Along the way I was lucky enough to work on a variety of software projects while living and conducting active research in 5 countries so far. With my PhD work coming to a close, my next goal is to apply the many useful skills I've built up in the private market. To prepare for this transition I have been taking additional online classes to adapt my knowledge base into the correct framework and nomenclature. Strengths: Python (NumPy, SciPy, matplotlib, multiprocessing), C++, Linux, Algorithms (Monte Carlo, Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC), Simulated Annealing, Sigma Tuning). Other programming languages: Matlab, Java, Pyraf/iraf, AIPS, fortran. Newly Acquired skills: Data science and machine learning with scikit-learn, Pandas, Apache Spark, MLlib, MapReduce and Hadoop distributed processing. Website development with HTML, CSS, and JS.
