How to Get a Panama Electronic Affidavit
There are many ways to obtain the Panama electronic affidavit in one's passport. One could ask their passport office for assistance. Panama is a member of the International Organization for Security Matters (OAS). Any documentation, including passports and id cards, will be accepted at any American consular offices around the world. The Department of State does not issue American passports. A person can also request that they be issued a copy of their Panama electronic affidavit directly from the Panama Canal Authority (PCA). There are several conditions to this service. Most notably, if the paperwork is not properly completed, a PCA employee can enter Panama electronically and only the file name and a blank e-mail address will be provided. The sworn statement method is available to anyone who wants their passport checked before they travel. This method requires a person to swear in front of a clerk in a government office that they have been domiciled in Panama for six months or more. A sworn statement must then be recorded and sent to the PCA via mail. Any discrepancies can be presented to the relevant authorities.
