Mohegan Pennsylvania is the new name of Wilkes-Barre location
Mohegan, developer and manager of famous entertainment resorts in the U.S. and elsewhere, is pleased to announce that the first destination to bring the game to Pennsylvania in 2006 will now be known as Mohegan Pennsylvania. "We recently rebranded the company from Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment to Mohegan," said Ray Pineault, Mohegan's CEO. "As many partners, stakeholders, and valued customers commonly refer to our brand as 'Mohegan', the new title is a strategic decision that truly encapsulates our capabilities and values. Destinations such as Mohegan Pennsylvania have also launched rebranding to create synergies across the Mohegan portfolio, especially as we continue to grow in line with the vision of the Mohegan tribe." The new name change follows the launch of Project Starlight, which will soon include the completion of a $10 million renovation to a 237-room hotel in Mohegan Pennsylvania. Other real estate improvements as part of Project Starlight include the Hive Taphouse, a new Bazaar live music venue with a great entertainment calendar, a variety of flat screens for big games, more than 20 beer options, and a full dining menu. Hive Taphouse is also home to the Topgolf Swing Suites, where guests can play virtual golf at the popular PGA Course and try it out themselves at other activities, such as the Quarterback Challenge. The new seasonal outdoor terrace bar also opened last summer and quickly became a hot spot to enjoy live music, relax in a fire pit, play grass, and sip top-of-the-line wine. "As the new year approaches, there's so much to be excited about and the excitement stems from our dedicated team and leadership," said Anthony Calucci, President and GM of Mohegan Pennsylvania. "With new names, converted hotels, new attractions, and our brand and continuous unrivaled guest service that exemplified all of our Mohegan properties, we're excited about what's next for Mohegan Pennsylvania."
