Brook, the largest U.S. charity casino located minutes from the New Hampshire-Massachusetts border
Announced a $3.7 million donation to New Hampshire charities in the first half of 2023. Since 2019, casinos have now donated nearly $12 million to local organizations in need. "The charity casino model in New Hampshire is why we decided to transform The Brook into a top entertainment destination in the region," said Andre Carrier, CEO of The Brook. "We are all happy to see that these funds have made a real difference to the hundreds of vital organizations that are doing important work with limited resources every day." The Brook allocates 35 percent of all possible revenue through its circular selection process to charities such as Make-A-Wish New Hampshire, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire, and Annie's Angels over a seven to 10-day cycle. The Brook expects donations to top $7 million in 2023 as facilities such as showrooms and Lucky Restaurants continue to improve in the new season. This year, Brook's donation will allow Rockingham Nutrition & Meals On Wheels to provide 15,000 meals to seniors in need. "The demand for meals has been steadily increasing over the past few years and the limited amount of money we receive from the government has not kept up with that growth," said Helen Kostrzynski, director of operations at Rockingham Nutrition & Meats On Wheels. "The funding we received from Brooke has been a great help to many people in our community and is why we have been able to continue delivering meals without reducing people or putting them on waiting lists." The Brook donated $92,000 to Make-A-Wish in 2023, which translates into seven life-changing wishes for local children with serious illness, such as a trip to Disney World or Hawaii over the next few months. Make-A-Wish has received more than $200,000 in total from Brook since 2019. Julie Baron, CEO of Make-A-Wish New Hampshire, said, "We are very grateful for The Brook's continued support as prices continue to rise, increasing the cost of each wish we grant." "Their leadership allowed us to keep up with our pace of granting wishes every four days in New Hampshire." To pay more attention to support for community service organizations, The Brook recently announced the arrival of the 3-month-old Bernese Mountain Dog. It is trained as a service dog, and it can one day prepare to bring love and support to men, women, and children in its community outreach program. Since 2019, Brook has invested millions of dollars in 75 acres of large land and introduced a variety of new amenities. It is only 40 miles from Boston and is easily accessible to the residents of Massachusetts and Maine.
