EASL Appoints Former CCO Mark Fisher As President
The East Asian Super League (hereinafter referred to as EASL) announced on the 26th that "Mark Fischer was appointed as president to strengthen the management team significantly ahead of the 2024-25 season." Fisher has been promoted from Chief Commercial Officer, where he previously held positions, to president. Fisher will oversee all marketing, advertising, and event operations, while working closely with CEO Henry Kerins on corporate strategy, league, and team partnerships to run the company. President Fisher is one of the most experienced and respected sports marketing executives in Asia, with a track record of leading the explosive growth of large sports organizations for approximately three decades. Previously, he served as executive director of NBA China, NBA Asia, and UFC Asia. "With EASL as the best professional basketball league in Asia in our first season, we are in a critical position for the next phase of exponential growth with this new management structure," Fisher said of his new role. "We are excited to lead a dynamic team of talented executives across our organization with CEO Kerins. We will carry out our aggressive expansion plans for the league both on and off the court." After a historic first regular season in the 2023-24 season, EASL is gearing up for a second season in the 2024-25 season. Asia's top eight professional basketball teams compete once again to become East Asian champions with 28 games played. The participating teams are the top-tier teams from Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines. The EASL 2024-25 season schedule is expected to be announced in the coming weeks. A series of advertising partners, including broadcasters and brand partners for the 2024-25 season, will also be announced soon.
